Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty crept upon the head community like a ten-year-old's first eargasm, causing us to look around shiftily to see if our parents were coming into our bedroom while surreptitiously cleaning up the mess we had just made. This is the song that did it for me. Combining Daddy Fat Sax's eponymous southernplayalistic flow with a beat made for a mid-90's R. Kelly conception jam plus Latin guitar noodling to taste, "Theme Song", to quote Chris Rock, is like Secret deoderant–strong enough for a man, but made for a woman. Smoother than breastmilk, "Theme Song" will nod heads and lower thongs. This goes out to all my girls with the credit card scams.

The new album from Janelle Monáe drops May 18. Her songs brim with wailing vocals and attitude and a couple tracks even get that special touch from collaborators Big Boi and Of Montreal. Monáe's first single off The ArchAndroid showcases her eccentric hybrid of jazz and soul style. She takes a hurried soul beat and exchanges back and forth between sassy and maniacal on the vocals, only briefly relinquishing the spotlight for a spastic horn soli and a smugly casual few bars from Big Boi.

A few tracks have leaked with featured artists ranging from Gucci Mane, Raekwon, Andre himself to even the master of all that is funky, George Clinton. With all this music sounding spectacular, Sir Luscious Left Foot is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated albums of 2010. Everyone who was willing to give both OutKast discs a listen back when Speakerboxxx/The Love Below was released will probably love this album.
