The Return of Jus†ice: CIVILIZATION

Screw those rips from that Adidas ad, right now I'm throwin' at you the first released track from the French house masters' next record.  Released in Europe on Tuesday and in the US next week, "Civilization" is a grand return to the scene by the duo, bringing out strong, seemingly out-of-character classic '70s rock rhythms and steely flangers to start but then smashing the track into the ground with their trademark disco melodies.  This time around, they've hardened their sound a bit, somewhat like what MSTRKRFT has done with their re-emergence, but it's still as massive as they ever were.

I did this for you, so eat it while it's hot (and not on American shores yet): "Civilization" - Justice

Gramophonedzie

How did I miss this? Serbian DJ Gramophonedzie, currently touring Europe, just released this Afro-Caribbean house banger on Nocturnal Groove Digital. Like most great house music it's four to the floor with no major changes occurring throughout the song. A few adlibs, whistles and cuts tease the party but every time that guitar lick returns it's time again to smash your drink and exchange your toe tapping for spastic full body motion.

Special thanks to Jack for upping me.

The Friday SLAM: Tiësto vs. Diplo

Anyone who's in on the electronic scene should know both of these HUGE heavyweights, and when I found out they came together on a track, I thought "That's f-ing unusual and I don't know how that works, but I have to go change my pants now."

On one side we've got the ruler of all things trance and house DJ Tiësto, and then the other side sports a bruuutal trip-tronic man Diplo, who kills remixes in his spare time and also has a night job disguised as Jamaican commando Major Lazer (who fought in the secret Zombie War of 1984 and lost both arms in combat, THUS being why our military equipped him with experimental lasers that double as prosthetic limbs).  You would think these dudes don't even mix at all, since their DJ sets would be ideologically different in theory, but C'MON AND FEEL THE NOISE.

Checka da buildup yeee: "C'mon"
