Swedish masters of doom metal Katatonia have recently announced their New Night Over North America fall tour in support of last year's excellent "Night is the New Day." Fellow melancholic headbangers Swallow the Sun and Israeli prog metal band Orphaned Land are along for the ride, making it a formidable lineup. The tour hits the Palladium in Worcester, MA on September 11th. Though members Fredrik and Mattias Norrman recently quit the band, Katatonia should still be able to put on a magnificent display of hauntingly atmospheric passages and bone-crushing riffs.
