The queen of glammy dance music reclaims her throne. Despite recording with less edginess and complexity this time around, the new album is still brimming with playful toe-tapping electro-rock. Her most recent influences point closest to works of rock artists gone synthesizing fiends (think Radio Ga Ga era Queen or Van Halen circa MTV). The change is a bit unexpected but the euphoric hooks with upper register vocals getting lost in clouds of synths, pads and guitar that make every Goldfrapp song a treat haven't disappeared on this album.
