Cynic - Re-Traced

Prog-metal have Cynic have just posted a track entitled "King" from their upcoming EP "Re-Traced." The song is a reinterpretation of "King of Those Who Know," one of the best cuts from 2008's "Traced in Air." Gone are the jazz-influenced shred and vocoded vocals--"King" is mostly ambient and driven by Paul Masvidal's unaffected clean singing. "Re-Traced" includes three other interpretations of songs on "Traced in Air," as well as a completely new track, "Wheels Within Wheels." It drops May 17. If you're a fan of any forward-thinking band that refuses to remain in the stereotypical metal template, I highly recommend Cynic.
