"Humanity (Love The Way It Should Be)"-John Legend and The Roots

Wake Up!, John Legend's collaboration with the Roots is out and I can't fucking stop listening to it. The entire album is tremendous (especially John's 11 minute interpretation of Bill Wither's "I Can't Write Left Handed") because often the Roots are a little heavy (read: 8 minute spoken word interludes focusing on incestuous rape gorefests) and JL is a little too light (read: "Save Room"). However, together they fuse to form a social-justice conscious rap juggernaut in an accessible package. The Roots are like black coffee and John Legend is like the milk and sugar that actually makes it taste good. It's a formidable combination and one of the best of 2010.
