Throwback Thursday: Neutral Milk Hotel

Transitorily in transit '90s lo-fi indie rock outcast Jeff Mangum was the wizard behind Neutral Milk Hotel's short-lived odyssey, leaving behind one of the great albums of the '90s and even of all of indie rock---In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.  They can best be described as experimental psych-folk rock, lushly lo-fi and deliriously diversely instrumental, sadly beautiful as channeled through Mangum's impassioned singing.  The title track "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea"exhibits these qualities quite well, and this throwback is one that should be affectionately known by all us children of the '90s.
Sweet sorrow: "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea"
