Summer Sounds: A B & the Sea

These Midwest boys found it too irresistible and hopped in their van and drove to the Bay in search of that big wave, or at least that's what their songs tell us.  A B & the Sea bring back the glory of old-fashioned '60s surf pop that the Beach Boys had so well executed, armed with the signature surf guitar reverb, a simple bouncy but prominent bassline, and sunny, multifaceted vocals and harmonies alike.  Don't take them for a band built on simple arrangements, however, 'cause they utilize the modern creativity of clear influences the Shins, along with hints of the Beatles and the Everly Brothers rounding out the other side.

Hop in your convertible and go for a drive on PCH: "Bone Dry" & "Yellow-Haired Girl"
