New Stone Temple Pilots video - "Between the Lines"

Wait, Stone Temple Pilots are still together after their 2008 reunion tour? They're coming out with a new album? Scott Weiland is somehow not in jail for some heroin-fueled escapade? The answer to all these questions is yes, whether you like it or not. STP has just released a new video for the first single, "Between the Lines," from their upcoming self-titled comeback album. To tell you the truth, I don't really know what to think about the song. It continues in the vein of Stone Temple Pilots' poppy "Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop" vibe, complete with big power chords and handclaps. It's a pretty straightforward summer rock single. Though Weiland's vocals sound a bit overprocessed here, the DeLeo brothers do a fairly good job on guitar and bass to save "Between the Lines" from bland obscurity. The highlight of the cut is definitely Dean DeLeo's shredding solo, which ranks among his best.
